Rocksmith verspricht Anfängern, "jeder" könne Gitarre und Bass spielen. Das mag stimmen, allerdings braucht es mehr als nur das Musikspiel von Ubisoft, um die komplexen Instrumente beherrschen zu lernen. Golem.de nennt im Test Vor- und Nachteile aus Sicht eines Gitarrenlehrlings.
